Permits

The city of Davis requires permits for noise, fire, and alcohol. Be sure to get these in advance.

Noise

Consider the details of this document and this municipal code, and certainly “obtain the permission of the occupants of all affected dwelling units”.

Advertising

Is no one showing up to your Davis Bike Collective events?? It isn't that your event is no fun (every bike collective event is fun, right?), you probably just need to advertise a little better! Here are some tips from years of event organizing with the Bike Collective:

All types of announcements relating to bicycling around Davis are posted here. There is a high volume of emails and many readers. You must join the list to post.

Sacramento Bike Kitchen

The CSSC is a statewide group that promotes sustainability and has a UC Davis Chapter.

The Davis Wiki has an events board where you can post your event. The event will show up on the front page of the wiki for the entire day of the event. You can include pictures by uploading them to the Davis Bike Collective website galleries and then linking to the photo when posting the event. Use [http://www.davisbikecollective.org/images/phocagallery/folderName/imageName.extension] to link to the image and be sure to keep it small (under 640 pixels wide). If you are really need a big event to be on the front page you can submit it to be a featured page.

Experimental College - For WTF - Submit your course proposal in writing.  In general, we will need to hear that you are interested in teaching four months before the start of the quarter (i.e. end of August for Winter quarter).  We are looking for teachers who have a clear idea of curriculum, and can present their material in a clear and professional fashion, so the more details you put in, the better.

This is a non-profit public access cable channel.  The DCTV Community Bulletin Board is available for the purpose of promoting community events, and providing public service information.  Messages should be submitted two weeks prior to the date the message should be posted on the Community Bulletin Board.
